Snappy, catchy and DARN sweet tweens!

...did you write the muzak yourself?

Nick-the-Dead responds:

Nope! All background music was from Flashkit.com & all of the sound effects were from freesounds.com

A rollickin' foul time....

A question for the master:
You say you scan and vectorise your drawing?
Why not simply draw the whole thing in flash? Is it easier this way or are you trying to attain a certain look? Hey, whatever you're doing, keep it up!
But (oh foul and wize master of the putrid) PLEASE deign to answer this silly noob his one feeble question.
Many thanks O dark one..

Yeah!

You've got the moves, now howsabout some jokes at your own expense?
More, MORE!

WOW!

...never been so Stunned by an ending... guhhhhhhhhhh
I LOVE it!

AngryMouse14 responds:

Lol thanks, i still start a bit when i turn the volume up loud and play it through.

Y'gain...

So... how did you do it?
The sound I mean? It was (big suprise) Good! but with the tiny file size.... HOW?
or maybe I should be asking the Weebl...

Listen up holmes...

I can only say AWESOME three hundred times a minute (timed myself) so just so's you know, I think your toons are worth at least four hours...
Anyhoo The point is, PREPARE your most fly self for the barrage of questions... well just ONE question over and over...:
HOW do you get such AWESOME sound?
It's not just the music to which I refer (Frosty Vs R was the cream), but ALL of it!? I mean, how do you compress it?
Is there some secret to maintaining a low file size with such good sound?
Do you find that the size of your finished SWF is drasticallymuch larger than it could be?
Oh mighty Flash legend, Please enlighten the new noob on the block.

TmsT responds:

I usually set my sound to 32 whatevers.
The low file size is mostly due to drawing my own images and importing only a few bitmaps (sometimes).
I think that it's the images, not the sound, that make the large SWF file. I mean, my earlier movies were larger than they are now, yet I'm making longer movies now than I was a year ago. How can this be?
A piece of music can only be compressed in one way for Flash, but using images more efficiently than just copying bitmap after bitmap is a trick you should try to learn. I've been making my image-use more efficient since I began, but I can't really do much to make the music used more efficiently.
Draw your images in Flash and re-use as much as you can without copy-past-ing too many non-object drawings.

I just HAD to...

I mean, how could I NOT watch it twice?
hehehehehehehe You're under a 'rest' hehehehehehehehehehe
Genius!

General concorrences all round.

I agree. The animation was a tad choppy. Lemme ask you, how many frames were there between each picture change? I ask because once you've mastered 'shape tweening' things will REALLY take off for you. Shape tweening is the process of taking one ungrouped drawing and morphing it into another. To maintain the general dimensions of the picture as it changes you can even include 'shape hints' (Modify>Transform>add shape hint) Which help keep things nice and funky. Basically click anywhere in the timeline between two keyframes and select Tweening>shape in the frame panel.
Have a tinker... It'll serve you well.

Erol-Sabadosh responds:

Cool, I didn't know any of that stuff! I've sort of taught myself to use Flash over the years just by experimenting. Thanks for the tip, I think I'll give it a go.

HEY! you gort the moves thar buddy.

...but why the high frame rate? It's just not warranted. Still, nice jorb! OH! and the Perfect dark? yes It was perfect.. perfect indeed...
more, please!

Peace by wretched piece.
