I hadn't considered that Kyon might be a little ...confused, and even so, I'm sure he'd do a better job of keeping it from Haruhi -if only for the fact that I'm sure that he's fully aware of what might happen to the world if Haruhi lost him to anyone else.
But this's really concise writing and your Haruhi is super!
I'm blown away by your Mikuru and Yuki, though. They were spot-on!

Dude, this' some of your best work! The sheer scale of the gauntlet Mario has to conquer! -Yikes! At every corner an insurmountable challenge... Cool.
More movies should be this way. And the asylum? -I was genuinely afraid for Mario. I hope we see reprise of it in the final chapter!
